De wandeling is ongeveer 6,5km lang en bestaat uit 9 traditionals, één multi en één bonus. De tocht gaat voornamelijk over verharde wegen/paden. De tocht is met de fiets of te voet te doen. Om de eindlocatie van de multi te berekenen heeft u wat wiskundekennis nodig. Ook internet op de GSM is nuttig.
In elke cache zal u een code vinden die u nodig heeft om de bonus te vinden. Het is dus best om deze op te schrijven, anders zal de bonus niet tevoorschijn komen…
Randinformatie:
U komt verschillende noemenswaardige plaatsen van deze gemeente tegen. Bij cache nr.2 staat u bij de Ruisbroekmolen, een watermolen met molenaarswoning, daterende uit het midden van de 18ᵉ eeuw. Daarna passeert u de ‘Zandgroeven Bouillon’. Een beetje verder, aan de Herpendalstraat, werd in 1979 een Romeinse villa uit de 2e en 3e eeuw n.C. opgegraven. Het betrof een landgoed met de grondvesten van een hoofdgebouw en een badgebouw. De kelder van het hoofdgebouw bleef het beste bewaard en daarin vonden de archeologen enkele voorwerpen, waaronder een glazen prismafles. Van de ‘Villa Rustica’ is nu niets meer te zien. In het stukje Herpendalstraat waarlangs de tocht gaat, ziet u nog een zandgroeve. Ook komt u nog het ‘Wilderhof’ tegen. Het wordt ook wel één van de mooiere valleicomplexen van Bierbeek genoemd. Op dit domein bevinden zich een hoeve uit de 17e-18e eeuw en de tuinen van deze hoeve. Beide (zowel de hoeve als de tuinen) zijn opgenomen als onroerend erfgoed van natuurwetenschappelijke, estetische en historische waarde. De uitstraling die de hoeve nu heeft, dateert van 1906. Toen werden er (grondige) verbouwingen uitgevoerd.

De cachemobiel kan u kwijt naast de brug van de E40 (Zie hieronder).

Voor geen enkele cache is er extra materiaal nodig! Alles wat nodig is om de caches te openen is aanwezig.
In deze reeks is veel tijd gekropen, dus behandel de caches alstublieft met respect. Enkel zo kunnen ze nog lang meegaan!

The walk is approximately 6,5km long and exists of 9 traditionals, 1 multi and 1 bonus. The tour follows mostly paved roads/trails. You can do it by bicycle or by foot. To calculate the end location of the multi, you need some math knowledge. Also internet on your mobile phone is helpful.
In each cache you find a code that you need for finding the bonus cache. So it is good to write it down, otherwise the bonus won’t appear…
Additional information:
You encounter multiple notable places of this village. At cache nr.2, you stand near the ‘Ruisbroekmolen’ (Ruisbroekmill), a watermill with the miller’s house, dating from the middle of the 18th century. Then you pass the ‘Zandgroeve Bouillon’ (sandpit Bouillon). A bit further, at the Herpendalstreet, a Roman villa dating from the 2nd and 3rd century A.D. was excavated. It was an estate with the fundaments of a main building and a bath building. The cellar of the main building preserved the best and in there the archaeologist found some things, including a prism bottle of glass. You see nothing anymore of the ‘Villa Rustica’. In the next piece of the Herpendalstreet, you see one more sandpit. At last you also see the ‘Wilderhof’. It is also called one of the more beautiful valley complexes of Bierbeek. On this property there is an estate dating from the 17th-18th century with the gardens of it. Both the house as the gardens are registered as cultural, esthetical and natural-scientific heritage. The current look of the house dates from 1906. At that moment a renovation took place.

Still some important information:
You need no extra things for opening the caches! Everything that is needed, is present at the caches.
I put a lot of time in making the tour, so please handle the caches with respect. Only in that way they can exist for a long time!
