THE LEGEND: Thirty years ago, in the summer of 1987, a little-known tennis player from Kiama named Pat Cache won the final of The Famous Tennis Championship (TFTC), defeating American sensation Gee Pierce (who was known for his accuracy to within 2-3 metres). However, over the years, memory of Pat's victory has faded. Today you can still visit this site of the practise wall he used to hit against for hours and your coordinates should locate his commemorative cache nearby.
KIAMA TENNIS CLUB: Okay, so there never was a player named Pat Cache (although Pat Cash did win Wimbledon in 1987) but we wanted to showcase this relatively hidden spot in Kiama. Most visitors and many locals don't even know that there are 7 floodlit tennis courts tucked away down here at the end of Noorinan Street, which the public can use all year round (small fee). There is easy parking for this one, and relatively free from muggles (unless they're using the practise court). All we ask is that you return the cache as good as (or better than) how you found it.
