As many as twenty thousand people a day visit Oregon Health & Science University's main campus on Marquam Hill. OHSU is Portland's largest employer, medical destination, and home of several medical schools. Marquam Hill is only accessible from downtown Portland by just two two lane roads. To keep Marquam Hill accessible an aerial tram was the best possible solution.
Working at OHSU the tram ride is an enjoyable part of my everyday commute. Each day I try to point in a different direction to just take in the view.
While there is a fee for general public to ride the tram many other passes are honored which are listed below.
Children 6 and under: free
Active Military, Retired and Veteran Identification Cards: honored
TriMet annual and monthly passes: honored, except Hop Fastpass
Portland Streetcar annual pass: honored
C-TRAN annual and monthly passes: honored
March Wellness Member cards: honored
OHSU rides are pre-paid by OHSU with display of an OHSU badge or patient ticket.
Make sure to check Tram operating hours to make sure the tram will be running when you intend to visit.
