Geocache Description:

Kostivere is the best-known Karst region in Estonia and the biggest in Harjumaa (its total area is 125 hectares).A large region with the total area of 16 hectares is under state protection. That part of the Karst region is also the most interesting one. In the Karst region, the Jõelähtme River goes underground near the Kostivere settlement and comes up again near an old bridge in Jõelähtme. Near the river's underground course interesting limestone Karst formations such as open cracks, Karst ditches, funnels, and valleys up to 5 meters deep, can be found. Here are also small caves, the largest of them is Karjakelder that is 6 meters long, 4 meters wide, and 2.5 meters high. The bottom of the grotto is always covered with water. Here is also one Karst bridge and peculiar residual rocks known as "stone mushrooms" in the Karst region. The following requirements could be done for logging this virtual cache:

1) Take a picture of a mushroom stone - It is suggested that you or part of you is visible on picture and the device you are using for search (GPS, phone, etc.).

2) In addition, look at the bigger info board on the gate of the karst. There is a placed written code behind it. Please send this code through GC message to my username. Logging this code like trackable is also accepted.

3) Add a picture to your own log. The image may also be just a part of your body if you do not want to capture everything at all. Images must be made on the same day as the logging date.

You do not need to wait for any response from me to log this cache as found, but the logs that are not approved will be removed. Karst formations and littering the Karst field is strictly forbidden when visiting the Karst Region

Jõelähtme jõgi, nn salajõgi, voolab siin u 2,5 x 0,5 km suurusel alal maa all – urked ehk maa-aluse jõe algus jääb just Kostivere aleviku territooriumile Kivimite lahustumise ja erosiooni tagajärjel on kujunenud karstilehtreid ja -orge, avalõhesid, seenekujulisi jäänukeid (sh Kivilaud), pisikesi koopaid ning teisi karstivorme. Jäänukpankadest on tuntuim 2,8 meetri kõrgune Kivilaud - Kostivere seen milleni see virtuaalne aare sind juhatabki. Lisaks võib leida ümbrusest unikaalse kivisilla. Karstiorgude veetase kõigub aastas u 5 m. Suurvee ajal, peamiselt kevaditi on langatusalad üle ujutatud. Karstijärvede all on osaliselt käsitletud ka karstijõge.

1) Pildista seenekivi - Soovitatavalt on pildistatav ka seenekivi all asetsev geopeitur koos otsimiseks kasutatava seadmega (tel, gps, vm)

2) Lisaks vaata palun karstiala väravas suuremat infotahvlit. Selle tagaküljele on paigutatud kood. Saada palun see mu kasutajanimele teatena GP/GC lehelt. Koodiga ränduri logimine on ka aktsepteeritud tagasiside.

3) Lisa enda logiteatelele pilt.
