Grinnell Glacier Virtual Cache

There is no physical container at this virtual cache. Logging a find for this cache requires a visit to the listed coordinates. Getting to the cache location requires a substantial hike of about 12 miles roundtrip. The elevation gain from the trailhead to the cache location is over 1600 vertical feet. Taking the boat at Lake Josephine will reduce the length of the hike but will not reduce the climb. The views along the trail are spectacular. No special equipment is required, however proper hiking attire, water, snacks and a good pair of hiking boots are recommended. This is grizzly country, bear spray is also recommended. Cache is accessible in summer and early fall dependant on snowfall.

Logging Requirements

At the cache coordinates you will find an official pre-existing man-made object. To log this cache send me a message with answers to each of the following three questions. 1). What are the two five letter words which are located on the SECOND LINE FROM THE BOTTOM. 2).While standing at ground zero, look to the East towards Angel Wing, the tall mountain. At about 35 feet from ground zero describe the unusual pattern in the rock slab. 3). While standing at ground zero, look to the North or a tad bit west of north, towards the trail on which you came in. At about 18 feet from ground zero describe the unusual feature of the rock slab.

BEWARE

It is very unlikely that you will have cell service at the cache site, I recommend that you download the cache information before heading up if you want to log this cache. However, the real value is in the hike and in the countless outstanding views along the way.
