Geocache Description:

Note on the kid friendly / dangerous area attributes

At ground zero, you'll be standing near a 15 metre drop-off. While that's not kid-friendly, the interpretive centre is a fabulous, kid-friendly place. Check it out and you'll probably want to go back with the children.

Note on terrain

It can be a stroll to ground zero up a gradual slope from the south or you can huff and puff up a loose gravel track from the north-east.
Watch out for mountain bikes as you near ground zero.

Some general information

I know of sixteen gate access points to this park. One of my geocaches offers a more adventurous way in and there is one unofficial freeway access point (but there is construction work, nasty signs and surveillance cameras at time of publication).
From the three parking co-ordinates below, plan for a minimum walk/cycle of two to four kilometres to ground zero. If you are distracted by any of the other 36 (at last count) geocaches in here, than my distance figures are irrelevant.

Claiming a find

To claim a find, post a photo with your log ... here are some ideas:

  • Your GPS with the view
  • You with the view — no need to show your face if you don't want to
  • The part of the view you liked the most
  • Be creative, but be careful — if you fall over the edge and don't die, it's really going to hurt
  • Remember this is a family-friendly web site

All I need to know is that you went there and took a photo.
