On November 14th 1970, The plane that was carrying the Marshall University football team crashed into a hillside on approach to the Huntington Tristate Airport returning from a football game at East Carolina University. There were no survivors, all 75 on board had killed. This was the most devastating crash in sports history.

The listed coordinates take you to the Memorial Fountain, a visible reminder of the 75 lives lost on that fateful night. The fountain was dedicated on November 12th 1972. Each year a memorial service is held on the anniversary of the tragedy. During the ceremony the traditional laying of the wreath and the water is turned off until the following spring.

To Claim credit for this virtual cache, simply post a picture of you with the fountain or message me the answers to the following questions. Do not include the answers in your online log or your log may be deleted.
