Ziemeļu forti ir neliela Liepājas cietokšņa daļa, kas atvērta apmeklētājiem. Tie atrodas Karostā, Liepājas ziemeļu daļā pie jūras. Cietoksnis tika būvēts 19.gadsimta beigās, 20.gadsimta sākumā, lai pasargātu Liepājas jūras kara bāzi iespējamā ienaidnieka uzbrukuma gadījumā. Nocietinājumu sistēma apjoza visu pilsētu. Ziemeļu fortus iespējams apskatīt arī gida pavadībā.
Fortos tiek piedāvāta komandu spēle “Bēgšana no PSRS", kuras būtība ir - saliedēti darbojoties, jāatrod draugs, kas kritis padomju robežsargu gūstā, un jānogādā līdz zemūdenei.
Te arī tapis jauns mākslas darbs - sirmgalve, kura raugās jūrā, sauksim viņu par fortu veceni.
Veceni radījis franču mākslinieks ar pseidonīmu Al Sticking projekta "Vagabond ages" ietvaros.
Liepājā Al Sticking devies uz Sv. Annas baznīcu, kurā arī iepazinis uzgleznoto sievieti. "Jau pirmajā mirklī, kad viņu ieraudzīju, es zināju, ka vēlos viņu satikt, uzklausīt un uzgleznot. Reizēm nevar izskaidrot lietas, tās vienkārši ir sajūtas. Viņas stāsts, kurš droši vien ir līdzīgs daudzu citu tā laika liepājnieku stāstiem, bija patiess atspoguļojums tam, ko cilvēki tajā laikā pārdzīvoja."
Tad arī mums būs šī iespēja iepazīties ar šo spokaino mākslas darbu un varbūt arī, apmeklējot Sv. Annas baznīcu, satikt pašu sirmgalvi.
Lai ielogotu šo slēpni, Jums Jānokļūst līdz dotajām koordinātēm vai vismaz vietai, no kuras var redzēt veceni, un:
1) jānofotografē sevi vai savu GPS ar kolorītu lakatiņu uz vecenes fona, foto jāpievieno savam ierakstam;
2) ierakstā jāsniedz savs viedoklis, vai militāras drupas/būves ir aizvācamas, atstājamas dabiskai sabrukšanai, vai tieši otrādi saglabājamas liecības.

The Northern Forts are small part of Liepaja fortress, which is opened to visitors. They are located in Karosta, in the northern part of Liepaja by the Baltic sea. The fortress was built at the end of the 19th century, at the beginning of the 20th century to protect city of Liepaja naval base in the event of a possible enemy attack. The fortification system surrounded the entire city. The Northern Forts can be visited also with the guide.
In the Northern Forts you can participate in the outdoor team game called "Escape from the USSR", the essence of which is to find a friend who has been hold by the Soviet border guards and he must be brought to the submarine in a cohort operation.
This geocache is about the new art work - the old woman, who looks at the sea, I will call her Vecene.
Vecene has been created by a French artist with a pseudonym the Al Sticking during his project "Vagabond ages". In Liepaja
Al Sticking went to St. Anne's Church where he met soon to be painted woman. "The very first moment I saw her, I knew that I wanted to meet her, listen, and paint her. Sometimes things can not be explained, they just can be felt. Her story, which probably is similar to the stories of many others at that time, was a true reflection of what people were going through at that time. "
You will have this opportunity to get acquainted with this spooky artwork and maybe by visiting the Church of St. Anne's you will meet this lady too.
To log this geocache you must reach the given coordinates or at least the place from which you can see the "old woman" and:
1) take a picture of yourself or your GPS with a colored headscarf with old woman (Vecene) in the background and add picture to your log;
2) give your opinion in log whether the military ruins has to be removed, left to natural disintegration or they are evidence that must be preserved.
LogS that does not fullfil those two inquires will be deleted from 29 th October.
