WORLD WAR II VALOR IN THE PACIFIC NATIONAL MONUMENT

This Virtual Cache was placed with the help and permission of the National Park Service.
On December 7th 1941 the attack on Pearl Harbor thrust America into the war in the Pacific. Many great people have spoken about the attack on Pearl Harbor. None better than President Franklin D. Roosevelt who addressed the world with "a date which will live in infamy" the day after the attack.
Words fail me when I try to take in the enormous event that happened that day not just in the loss of life but how it changed the world. I hope that you take the time to visit the Galleries: "Road to War" and "Attack", Pearl Harbor Memorial Theater, USS Missouri Battleship, USS Bowfin Submarine Museum, and Pacific Aviation Museum among other attractions. Maybe these can replace my words.
