Geocache Description:

Images by KoolAidWino taken at site

The iron man came west to make a new life for his family. With the Oswego area promising to be the next Pittsburgh of the West he dug into the side Iron Mountain like he was a double first cousin to a dad blamed mole. He made $3.50 a day.

Holding their "Sticking Tommies" the iron men brought out 150 - 175 tons of iron each day. Come and visit the entrance to the Posser Mine. Long since sealed, you can still walk the cart trails and go on to see the blast furnace and other area of this land and due plenty of other geocaching.

Note that there is an easier and upper entrance but the coordinates are not posted. You can find it easily with the GPS or cell phone and drive to it if up hill hiking is challenge. If you are able bodied the long way up is recommended.

To claim this find you can do one of two things A) Post a picture of yourself somewhere at the site B) There is a deck nearby. What month and year is that deck attributed to? Message that information to me.
