BISMARCKTURM
Die feierliche Grundsteinlegung für Schwabens einzigen Bismarckturm fand im Juli 1901 statt. Nach vier Jahren war der 20 Meter hohe Turm in Form einer wuchtigen Feuersäule aus Uracher Tuffstein fertig. Ursprünglich trug der Turm eine eiserne Flammenschale, in der bei der Einweihung am 3. September 1905 ein gewaltiges Feuer brannte. Ab 1911 wurde der Turm alljährlich zu Bismarck's Geburtstag am 1. April befeuert. Im Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde der Bismarckturm als Luftraumbeobachtungs- und Flakturm mißbraucht. Vermutlich wurde in dieser Zeit auch die Flammenschale entfernt. Der Turm überstand den Krieg nahezu unbeschadet. Von 1939 bis 1947 und von 1957 bis 1983 war der Turm für die Öffentlichkeit geschlossen. 1981–1983 wurde der Turm komplett saniert.

The solemn foundation for Schwabens' single Bismarckturm took place in July 1901. After four years, the 20-meter high tower was finished in the form of a massive fire column made of Uranch tuff. Originally, the tower bore an iron flame shell, in which a huge fire burned at the inauguration on September 3, 1905. From 1911, the tower was annually lit at Bismarck's birthday on April 1st. In the Second World War, the Bismarck Tower was abused as an air space observation and flakturm. Probably during this time also the flame bowl was removed. The tower was almost unscathed. From 1939 to 1947 and from 1957 to 1983, the tower was closed to the public. 1981-1983 the tower was completely renovated.
