Das Ars Electronica Center ist die bauliche Umsetzung dessen, was die Ars Electronica verkörpert: Ein Ort, an dem man entdecken und forschen kann, experimentieren und erkunden, ein Ort, der sich die Welt von Morgen als Bühne ausgesucht hat und Einflüsse aus vielen verschiedenen Denk- und Betrachtungsweisen bündelt und präsentiert. Man kann das Center auf eigene Faust erkunden, oder sich in die Arme von fachkundigen Infotrainerinnen und Infotrainern begeben.
Das Center umfasst mehrere Ausstellungen gleichzeitig, die ständige Ausstellung „Neue Bilder vom Menschen“ bildet das Herzstück des kuratorischen Programms. In 4 Laboren, die nicht streng voneinander getrennt sind, wird der Frage nachgegangen, wie sich die Lebenswelt des Menschen und der Mensch selbst verändert, wir er seine Umwelt beeinflusst, und wie unsere Welt in der Zukunft aussehen könnte.
Neben dieser ständigen Ausstellung gibt es weitere zu entdecken, gemeinsam ist allen Ausstellungen, dass sie sich von verschiedenen Standpunkten aus an das Thema Mensch und wie er lebt und leben wird annähern. Eröffnet wurde das neue Center im Jahr 2009 anlässlich des Kulturhauptstadtjahres. Es stellt eine Erweiterung des 1996 gegründeten Museums dar. Es hat sich mittlerweile als das bestbesuchte Museum dieser Stadt etabliert, die sich der Kunst in all ihren Formen.

The Ars Electronica Center is the architectural expression of what Ars Electronica is all about: a place of inquiry and discovery, experimentation and exploration, a place that has taken the world of tomorrow as its stage, and that assembles and presents influences from many different ways of thinking and of seeing things. Visitors can encounter the Center on their own or seek guidance from the expert Infotrainers stationed throughout the exhibits.
There are always several exhibitions running simultaneously at the Center. The permanent exhibit “New Views of Humankind” constitutes the core of the curatorial program. Four labs—by no means strictly segregated from one another—examine how we human beings and the world we inhabit have changed, how we influence our environment, and how our world might be in the future.
In addition to this permanent exhibition, there’s lots more to discover. What all exhibits have in common is that they take different standpoints as their point of departure in approaching the subject of humankind, human life today and its future prospects. You’ll find an overview of the current exhibitions and descriptions of the things that await you in them on the Exhibition page.
The new Center—an enhanced and updated version of the 1996 original—opened in 2009, the year Linz served as European Capital of Culture. Attendance figures now surpass all other museums in this city that has dedicated itself to art in all its many forms.
Um diesen Cache loggen zu können, erfüllt bitte folgende Logbedingungen:

Finde die Koordinaten heraus, wo sich das Straßenschild befindet, welches Du im Listing als Bild aufrufen kannst und sende die Koordinaten per GC Nachricht an Cheesebread.
2)
Füge Deinem Log ein Bild mit Dir und einer eingeschalteten UV Lampe bei. Als Hintergrund muss das im BLAUEN Licht erstrahlenden AEC zu sehen sein. Du kannst aber auch gerne kreativ sein, falls Du gerade keine UV Lampe bei Dir hast, ein blaues Licht sollte auf jeden Fall zu sehen sein. Dies geht natürlich nur am Abend oder in der Nacht, es ist ja schließlich auch ein virtueller Nachtcache !
To be able to log this cache, please fulfill the following logging conditions:
1)
Find out the coordinates of the street sign, which you can see in the listing and send them by GC message to Cheesebread.
2)
Add a picture to your log with a switched on UV light. As a background the AEC must be illuminated in blue light. You also will be creative, if you don't have a UV light with you. A blue light should be definitely on the picture. Of course, it's only possible in the evening or at night because it's a virtual night cache !
