In Oslo står skulpturen vendt mot Stortinget. Ved skulpturen i Oslo finnes følgende tekst: "Created in celebration of women. In support of women in leadership positions, the empowerment of young women, women's education, gender equality, the reduction of prejudice in the work space through education, equal pay and the general well-being of women. Live Fearlessly!"
This is a virtual geocache. This means that there is no physical container at ground zero. To "find" and log the virtual geocache, you need to follow the instructions listed below.
One of my favourite aspects of Geocaching is the opportunity to come across places and stories which I would otherwise miss. The sculpture that comprises this virtual geocache is not very large or "flashy", and - for now - it is not very well known in Oslo. However, the sculpture carries an important message. I hope you will appreciate meeting "Fearless Girl".
Fearless Girl is a bronze sculpture by Kristen Visbal. The original version of the sculpture resides in the Financial District of Manhattan, New York, where the girl faces the 30 times heavier "Charging Bull" sculpture. A duplicate of the sculpture was placed in Oslo on the International Women's Day, March 8, 2018. In Oslo, Fearless Girl faces the Norwegian parliament Stortinget. Next to the sculpture in Oslo you will find the following text: "Created in celebration of women. In support of women in leadership positions, the empowerment of young women, women's education, gender equality, the reduction of prejudice in the work space through education, equal pay and the general well-being of women. Live Fearlessly!"
Logging requirements:
To "find" this virtual geocache you need to take a photo of "Fearless Girl" or any part of it. The photo must contain something of your own. It could be your GPS, your hand, your favourite pose, but I challenge you to plan ahead and bring along an object that you find appropriate for "Fearless Girl". When you log the geocache, you must supply your photo. Logs that do not fulfill these requirements will be deleted without warning.
