Geocache Description:


On December 19, 1777 under the command of General George Washington, the Continental Army entered Valley Forge. Here is where they spent their 6-month winter encampment, and faced many hardships from illness and harsh weather conditions. During the stay at Valley Forge is where the Continental Army became a cohesive and disciplined force under the teachings of Baron Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben.

Park only in designated parking areas.

Be aware of park hours and do not attempt this cache after dark. Open daily, year-round 7AM to dark (1/2 hr after sunset). Admission and parking is free.

To claim this cache, you need to answer questions at 3 different locations around the park and email or message CO with your answers.

Stage 2: The statue of Washington at Washington's HQ Q: How many rods are in the fasces?

Stage 3: Statue of Baron Von Steuben Q: What field does Von Steuben overlook and what occurred there?
