Mitt på dagen skulle de allra flesta av oss vara nej på den frågan. Men vad skulle du svara om du befann dig på en mörk och enslig plats mitt i natten och upplevde något oförklarligt? På vissa platser är det större risk att stöta på spöken än på andra, Kalmar Slott är en sådan plats.

På Kalmar Slott har det dukats upp till kungliga fester och slutits allianser som avspeglats i Europas historia. Men slottet har också en mörk historia. Tjocka murar har i många hundra år låtit grymheter fortgå i det fördolda. Blodbad och förräderier, människor som har torterats, steglats och avrättats, allt detta har gett avtryck. Här följer en kort beskrivning av några av slottets spöken:

Ett av slottets mera välkända spöken är den Vita Damen, hon kan ofta ses i ett av slottets torn där hon sitter med ett ljus för att lura fiendens skepp att gå på grund. Man tror att den Vita Damen är Margareta Posse vars skrik ofta hördes på nätterna medan hon levde. Vad hennes vedervärdiga och stenrike make Bo Johansson Grip gjorde mot henne som får henne att gå igen är okänt.

Ett annat spöke är en liten gosse med pagefrisyr, kråsskjorta, mörk jacka och mörka knäbyxor som vandrar i slottets ståthållare våning. Letar han efter en lekkamrat?

Den svarta skuggan ses ofta av personalen på slottet men ingen vet vem det är.

På julottan ligger det varje år halm på golvet bakom den sista bänkraden utan att någon levande skäl har lagt dit det. Det var här som fångarna satt och lyssnade på predikan.

Alla dessa berättelser är såklart fantasi och hjärnspöken, eller?

On a bright day most of us would answer that question: no. But what would you answer in the middle of the night if you encountered something inexplicable? In some places, it is more likely to encounter ghosts than others. Kalmar Castle, which dates back to the 13th century, is such a place.

At Kalmar Castle, it has been dressed up for royal festivals and formed alliances as reflected in Europe's history. But the castle also has a dark history. Thick walls have for many hundreds of years caused cruelties to continue in the hidden. Blood baths and betrayals, people who have been tortured, stepped up and executed, all this has given imprints. Here is a short description for some of the ghosts at the castle:

One of the more well-known ghosts in the castle is the White Lady. She can often be seen in one of the towers where she sits with a candle to let the enemy ship go by. The White Lady is believed to be Margareta Posse whose scream was often heard at night while she lived, what her pervasive and ruff husband Bo Johansson Grip exposed her to who makes her go again is unknown.

Another ghost is an unknown little boy with page haircut, kiss shirt, dark jacket and dark knee pants that can be seen walking in the castle's main hall, is he looking for a playmate?

The Black Shape is occasionally seen by the staff who work at the castle but nobody knows who it is.

Every year in the church on Christmas day, straw is on the floor of the back of the gangs, without anyone having laid it. Here the prisoners sat behind bars and listened to the sermon.

All these stories and sayings are of course just fantasy and brain ghost, or?

 

Since this is a Virtual Geocache there is no logbook to be signed. To log this cache you will need to become one of the ghosts at Kalmar Castle! What you need to do to is that you completely dress in white or sweep into a white sheet or in another creative way turn yourself into a ghost at Kalmar Castle.

In order to log the cache, you need to post a picture in the log of you in which it is clear that you are at Kalmar Castle and imagine a ghost by being completely dressed in white or doing your best ghost imitation. You do not have to show your face on the image.
