Ahoy Explorers and Welcome to beautiful Port Canaveral, Florida! In 1513 Juan Ponce de León landed on what he believed was an island. He was so impressed by the land he named it La Florida because of its flowers and beauty. At the posted coordinates you will find The Exploration Tower which was dedicated on November 4, 2013. This specific date was chosen as it marked the 60th anniversary of the original port dedication and also the 500th year anniversary of Ponce de León landing in Florida!

The Exploration Tower is a stunning architectural landmark with educational and interactive exhibits inside. There is no fee required for this cache, unless you decide to enter The Exploration Tower.
