Originally I was going to set this virtual in Peru. I changed my mind! I was out recently looking around this site and thought, it would be ideal for a virtual cache. No box to be found, or maintained, just a photo to be taken. I regularly watch the chain saw carvers at work at the competitions held at Sandringham. Some of them are marvelous.
To claim this cache you have to visit the site, walk around the Sculpture Trail and take a picture of one of the sculptures, preferably with you or your GPS in the photo to prove you were there. If you don't want to be in the picture, that is fine, put a substitute in the picture, A toy, teddy or GPS will do. Ideally, I would like a second picture of a wooden sculpture from somewhere else but that is voluntary. If you don't want to post a picture on line, send me one via an email or message from my profile. There is plenty of open space around here and the visitors center is just a few yards away. It is open all year except Christmas and New Year. The trail is open 24hrs a day but you will need to be here with sufficient light to take a photo. If you want to look around the main house, you need to be here between April and October. There is a fee to enter the gardens, house and museum . (Note that the Ballroom is due to be refurbished so the house may be closed for longer than usual for winter 2018/9).
The posted coordinates are for the entrance to the trail. Go through the gate and turn left or right. The choice is yours. There is no charge to walk around the trail. Parking is free. There is a leaflet available from the visitor center cafe and a quiz open to all ages. That is not part of the cache, but if you want to do the quiz you will need to be there 9:30 - 4:30 in the winter or 9:30 to 5:30 in the summer to pick up a leaflet.
