Our deepest of sympathy to the family of Deputy Litz and the Marion County Sheriff's Department. Deputy Litz was killed in the line of duty in 2004, The memorial statute is a life-size depiction of Deputy Litz and his K-9 companion, Justice. His monument has been a fixture in the Marion County community to remember and honor him for his ultimate sacrifice. Justice was part of the Litz family and remained with Brian's wife & son (Brian Jr) until his death at age 13.

DEPUTY BRIAN LITZ, AGE 37, WAS KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY ON FEB 4, 2004 WHILE PERFORMING A WELL-BEING CHECK ON A CITIZEN, THE STATUE OF BRIAN AND HIS CANINE PARTNER, JUSTICE, IS A LASTING MEMORIAL OF BRIAN'S DEDICATION AND DEVOTION TO DUTY AND TO FAMILY.
