Black Rock is a prominent sea stack on the foreshore at southern end of Widemouth Bay. The stack is composed of a Slump Breccia in the Bude Sandstones - consisting of large balls of sandstone and contorted thinner sandstone units, set in a siltstone and mudstone. If you were wondering :-)
This cache is only available at low tide and the rocks can be very slippy. Do not swim out to Black Rock, if tide is in and you can not see the bedrock between the beach and Black Rock, do not risk it as the waves could knock you agaist them causing possible serious injury or worse! So check the tide times and tread carefully! You do this completly at your own risk
