Slottet byggdes på 1480-talet och tillkom i syfte att vara ett befäst slott. På 1630-talet ombyggdes och tillbyggdes slottet. Åren 1740-41 byggdes den översta våningen samt mansardtaket, som kröns av en lanternin.
Ett flertal spökhistorier är knutna till Ängsö slott, några av dem handlar om den puckelryggige hovnarr Anders Luxemburg, ägarinnan Brita Bååt, hundspöket Cottilion. Mer om dessa kan ni läsa i andra cacher .
[ENG] The Castle was built around 1480 with the purpose to be a fortified castle. Around 1630 the castle was rebuilt and extended. During 1740-41 was the top floor added together with the mansard roof.
Several Ghost stories are connected to the Ängsö Castle, some of them are about the hunchback cort jester Anders Luxemburg, the owner Brita Bååt, the dog ghost Cottilon. You can find out more of the ghosts in other caches .
