Ga opzoek naar een van de smalste straatjes in Brugge, gelegen in het hart van de historische stad. Deze straat heette in de 16e eeuw het "Zuidzeepstraatje", naar een zeepfabriekje dat er gevestigd was. Rond 1800 kwam de naam De Garre in gebruik. In 1936 werd de straatnaam officieel aangepast naar de "De Garre". 'Garre' betekent in het West-Vlaams een smalle opening of spleet.
Oorspronkelijk was het een brandstraatje waarlangs men een verbinding zocht met de Reie, om bij brand het nodige bluswater te kunnen aanvoeren.
De opdracht:
- Begeef jezelf in het steegje en neem een foto van jezelf (Je bent NIET verplicht herkenbaar op de foto te staan) of van je gps toestel waar de naam "De Garre" duidelijk zichtbaar op staat. En voeg deze toe aan je log. Iedere log zonder foto zal worden verwijderd.

Start your search for one of the narrowest streets in Bruges, located in the heart of the historic city. This street was in the 16th century named "Zuidzeepstraatje", to a soap factory that was located there. Around 1800 the name "De Garre" came into use. In 1936 it's got it official name "De Garre". 'Garre' means a narrow opening or crack in West Flemish.
Originally the street was used as a connection with the Reie, in order to supply the necessary extinguishing water in case of fire.
The misson:
- Go into the alley and take a picture of yourself (you are NOT obliged to be recognizable on the picture) or your GPS device in the alley where the name "De Garre" is clearly visible and add it to your log. Any log without a picture will be deleted.
