Geocache Description:

This Virtual Cache will take you to the Cupertino Veterans Memorial in Memorial Park.

Dedicated on November 11, 2007, this honors those who have served the nation in the armed forces. At the heart of the memorial is a bronze sculpture of two Navy SEALs, Matthew Axelson and James Suh. Axelson, a Cupertino native, and Suh were among nineteen American servicemen that lost their lives during Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan in the summer of 2005.

To log this Virtual Cache, please locate the stone tile at the base of the sculpture that contains a two-word foreign phrase. This phrase does not contain the word "semper".

Please email me (do NOT post in your log) the following information:

(1) the two-word phrase
(2) the initials that appear below it
(3) a photo of you, your group, or your GPSr with the memorial clearly in the background.

2 May 2021 update: Unfortunately, someone didn't bother to read the cache page carefully and posted the phrase in a log, which I did not see for several hours. In the past I have been lenient about allowing logs to stay even with incomplete information. Because the phrase was available for everyone to see, albeit for a short period of time, I now must insist on receiving all the information requested so that I can verify an actual physical visit to the cache. I am sorry to have to be more strict about this.

If you do not contact me with your answer within 24 hours of posting your "found it" log, your log will be deleted without notice.

Please DO NOT post an image of the tile! DO NOT post the phrase or the initials in your log!
