Geocache Description:

Welcome to Edmonds

Edmonds was established in 1876 by logger George Brackett, who bought the land claim of an earlier settler. It was incorporated as a city in 1890, shortly before the arrival of the Great Northern Railway. Early residents of the city were employed by the shingle mills and logging companies that operated in the area until the 1950s. The hills surrounding Edmonds were developed into suburban communities in the mid-to-late 20th century and subsequently annexed into the city. Edmonds is a regional hub for the arts, with museums, specialized facilities, and major annual festivals within the city's downtown area.

This Virtual will start you at the Edmonds Center For The Arts. Take a stroll down 4th Ave and enjoy The Luminous Forest

The installation of “Luminous Forest”, the interim art project by Seattle artist Iole Alessandrini was completed on Monday, June 13, 2016. Unlike some art that shouldn’t be touched, this art can not only be touched – but it can and should be driven on. The composition of the exhibition by Alessadrini includes solar LED light elements embedded in the roadway between Daley and Main Sts.

To Log This Virtual

Please tell me how many led lights there are in this installation and upload a photo of yourself and you GPS, or if you prefer, just a photo of your GPS, taken near the posted coordinates with the Edmonds Center For The Arts or the Luminous Forest in the background. If your camera is also your GPS, use some other object, car keys, wallet, rubber chicken... The important thing is that the picture demonstrates you're a cacher logging a virtual cache, not a tourist.
