Geocache Description:

The summit of Beacon Rock sits 848 ft / 258 m above the shoreline of the Columbia River. From the small viewing area on top, hikers are treated to spectacular views of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.

The trail to the top is two miles round trip from the trailhead to the summit and back. This trail is steep and can be slippery when wet. While the trail has very good handrails, there are sections that may be scary for those that have issues with heights.

PLEASE NOTE: A Washington State Parks Discovery Pass is required to park at the trailhead. You must purchase and prominently display this pass or you will be ticketed. There are kiosks located close to the trailhead. Beacon Rock trail is closed and gated from dusk to 8:00 AM.

Photos are encouraged, but not required. In order to log this cache, please either email or message us with the answer to the following question. We will delete logs from finders that do not provide us the correct answers within a reasonable amount of time.

QUESTION: The final climb to the summit ascends 17 steps. On the seventh step from the bottom there are two prominently stamped initials. What are the two letters?
