Gyllene snittet
Det Gyllene snittet har använts i århundraden för att beskriva olika saker. Det är en princip som bygger på förhållandet 1:1.618 och har länge hyllats som "det perfekta numret". När man fotograferar eller målar så kan gyllene snittet hjälpa till att skapa en bild som när man tittar på den känns naturlig och harmonisk.
Kända verk så som "Mona Lisa", "Nattvarden" och "Venus födelse" sägs alla vara baserade på det gyllene snittet. Faktum är att det gyllene snittet går att återfinna nästan överallt i naturen. Från snäckskal till solrosor och tallkottar, så verkar all tillväxt att följa snittet.
På 1200-talet så uppfann en matematiker vid namn Leonardo Fibonacci en sifferserie som skulle skapa ett estetiskt tilltalande mönster. Det är känt som "Fibonaccis spiral" och är starkt kopplat till det gyllene snittet.
Fibonaccis spiral kan användas som mall när man fotograferar och ger en bild som känns harmonisk och som tittaren har lätt att ta till sig.
Utanför entrén till Göteborgsoperan finner du ett konstverk som kallas "Snäckan" och som är inspirerat av Fibonaccis spiral.

The Golden Ratio
The Golden Ratio has been used as a powerful composition tool for centuries. It is a design principle based on the ratio of 1 to 1.618. Hailed as ‘the perfect number’, the Golden Ratio can assist in creating images that have a strong composition, which will attract viewers to your photograph.
Famous works of art such as the Mona Lisa, the Last Supper, and The Birth of Venus, among others, are all rumoured to have been composed based on the Golden Ratio. In fact, the Golden Ratio has also been called "natures number" because it is said to appear everywhere throughout nature, from the nautilus shell to the sunflower.
Sometime around the 13th century a mathematician named Leonardo Fibonacci devised a series of numbers that will produce an esthetically pleasing composition. This composition is known as the Fibonacci Spiral and is strongly related to the Golden Ratio.
Using the spiral as a tool to compose a photograph will allow the viewer to be led around the image in a natural flow.
Just outside the entrance to the opera house, you can enjoy an artwork called "Snäckan", which is inspired by the Fibonacci spiral.
