Start your quest on Astotin Beach in Elk Island National Park. Parking is available in the Astotin Recreation Area parking lots.
To retrieve this cache, located on High Island in Astotin Lake, you’ll need to be adventurous. Canoe or kayak to the island in the summer; in the winter, take your skis, skates, or snowshoes along.
High Island is visible from the Astotin Beach. During your search for the cache, take note of the trees around you and watch for the waterfowl that frequent Astotin Lake.
SAFETY: Take all usual precautions for water activities. In the winter, thin ice may be found on bodies of water in the park. Use caution when finding this cache, and be prepared to self-rescue.
You need a pass to visit Elk Island National Park - stop at the Visitor Centre on your way in.
