South Gate of Taipei City Walls 台北城南門 Traditional Cache

    This cache was hidden in one of the gates of Taipei City Walls.

    Taipei City Walls were built in 1882 and completed in 1884 in Qing Dynasty. Decades later, Taiwan was handed over to Japan Emperor in 1895, and the walls started to be demolish because of a new urban planning from Japanese government. Nowadays only the East, South, Side-South, and North Gates still stand in Taipei City. The walls, on the other hands, turned into 4 wide roads in Taipei, ZhongXiao West Rd in the north, ZhongShan South Rd in the east, Aiguo West Rd in the south, and ZhongHua Rd in the west. The rocks taken from the walls were partly used to construct Taipei Prison, where a cache was also hidden.

    South gate, also called LiZheng Gate (麗正門), is located at the intersection of AiGuo West Rd and GongYuan Rd. The gate was rebuilt into a Northern-Chinese style from the original South-FuJian Style in 1966 for "beautification", making it a totally different looking from before.

   The gate stands inside a roundabout with no possibility to put cache inside. Please don't try to get into the gate and don't forget to bring your own pen.

    這個寶藏被藏在台北城的其中一個城門處。

    台北城於清朝年間建城，於1882年開工並在2年後完工。數十年後，台灣於1895年移交給日本帝國統治。由於日人推動新的都市計畫，台北城城牆逐步被拆除。今日僅剩下東門、南門、小南門與北門仍矗立於台北街頭。而原先城牆處則改建為四條馬路，分別為今日的忠孝西路、中山南路、愛國西路與中華路。部分由城牆拆下來的石塊被日人用來新建了 台北監獄，這裡同時也是一個藏寶點喔。

    南門又稱作麗正門，位於愛國西路與公園路口。於1966年以"整頓市容以符合觀光需要"為由，遭台北市政府改建為中國北方風格之建築。

    南門位在圓環中心，無法在此藏(或找)寶藏，請不要嘗試進入。同時也別忘了帶筆喔。
