Come on out to South Park on September 30th to help Trails Pittsburgh, REI and Allegheny County Parks in celebrating National Public Lands Day. We will be meeting at 8:30 AM near the Fairgrounds Track. At 9 AM small groups will be sent out to work on small projects on many of the single track trails throughout the park. Work should wrap up around 12:00 Noon with a lunch supplied back at the Fairgrounds. Tee-shirts will be provided to everyone that helps. Trails Pittsburgh and REI are asking anyone that is coming to please register on their site so they can make sure they have enough tools and food. You can register on their site at https://www.rei.com/events/national-public-lands-day/174461
All volunteers are asked to wear closed toe shoes and bring reusable water bottles for drinking. If you have any gardening tools and/or work gloves, please bring them along. Tools will also be available on site.
September 30th is also towards the end of a CITO weekend, so that means a souvenir can be earned by attending this CITO. If you have nothing going on this weekend, come on out to South Park and lend a helping hand. South Park has over 40 caches in the park, and the county has been great to allow us to place these caches here. It’s a great way to say thank you for allowing us to play our game in their park!
