Geocaching.com are holding a CITO event from 23 September - 1 October where cachers can choose to attend a Cache In, Trash Out event...and get a souvenir for their efforts! Come and join us to help keep Beck Mason's wood (part of Oxhey woods) clean and tidy.
Can you give a couple hours of your time to come and keep it tidy by joining us for a litter pick? Well behaved children and dogs are welcome!
Hertfordshire Council have arranged to take all the rubbish away after our event, and rubbish sacks will be available at the event, but please bring more if you want! Please bring gloves for the litter picking and wear suitable footwear.
We are setting the terrain rating as 1.5 for this litter pickng, as whilst wandering around the woods and on grass or earthen paths it might be muddy after rain.
There are various shops and cafes in South Oxhey where you can get refreshment, or alternatively why not bring a picnic, and combine the event with doing caches in the local area? There is a free gravel car park just up the road at the sculpture trail and the surrounding roads have unrestricted parking.
For public transport users, Carpenders Park Overground station is about 15 minutes walk away, or bus H13 stops on Prestwick road about 5 minutes walk away.
There are several nearby geocaches, of which all of mine will be fully stocked with swag, and there will be a tb discover/table in the main clearing.
