The 8th Annual Bussey Point Camping and Cook Off will start at noon December 1st and end at noon on December 3rd, 2017.
Yes, everyone, it is that time again. Great camping weather and so much food we just don't know what to do. Again, we cannot thank those that have attended, in the past, enough for the great times we have all had while hanging out at Bussey Point.
For those who have never attended, this is how the event goes:
For those who would like to camp, the camp sites will be availabe starting at noon-time Friday December 1st through noon-time December 3rd. This event is a camp/cook-off event that last the whole weekend. There will be prizes awarded in the category of "main dish" and "dessert" entries. Participants of the cook off can enter one or both of the categories listed. There will NOT be a category of "best presentation" this year.
The event for Saturday starts at 1 pm and ends at 3 pm.
You do not have to bring a dish to attend the meeting but we do ask that if you plan to eat that you cook in the cook-off or bring a dish or something to add to the table so that there will plenty of food for everyone wanting to eat.
To qualify for the cook off all participants must do two things to enter.
1. In the attendance log, state that you are entering the cook off.
2. Cook your entry dish on site.
Store bought food heated by the fireside WILL NOT be accepted as an entry. Food cooked at home and brought then reheated WILL NOT be accepted for the cook off.
The Cook-Off entries will be judged at l:00 PM Saturday (no if's, and's or but's or anything else will stop the judging from starting promptly at 1 PM). All dishes must be ready by 1:00 PM!!!! Each participant must provide their own means of cooking, such as building your own fire, setting up your own grill, outdoor stove, etc.

After the cook off there will be a picnic (sampling of all the great dishes cooked) followed by a short meeting. If you are planning on camping let us know in the "Attending" post so we will know how many to expect around the campfire and how many sites to reserve. PLEASE NOTE: BUSSEY POINT IS A PRIMITIVE CAMP GROUND AREA. IT IS ALWAYS BEST TO BRING YOUR OWN WATER OR FILTER ANY WATER USED IN THE AREA. LARGE CAMPERS/MOTOR HOMES WOULD NOT BE A GOOD CHOICE FOR CAMPING IN THIS AREA. TENT, HAMMOCK CAMPING AND SMALL RVs (POP UPs) WOULD BE ABLE TO ACCESS THE LOCATION OF THE COOK OFF. THERE ARE BATHROOM FACILITIES AT THE LOCATION IN THE WAY OF OUT HOUSES. THERE ARE NICER RESTROOMS LOCATED NEAR THE HORSE TRAILER PARKING AREA/MAIN PARKING AREA OF BUSSEY POINT BUT STILL NO FAUCET FACILITIES. NO AVAILABILITY TO ANY SHOWERS.
We will be having a Texas Hold'em poker tournament Saturday night.
Buy-in will be 3 UN-ACTIVATED Geo-Coins. Right Now Seating is limited to the first 10 who wish to participate. We will play tournament style rules and play until there is a clear winner.
Pay out will be 60% 1st place... 30% 2nd place... 10% 3rd place. If you wish to play, Please respond with a new log note. First come first served for sign up.
Additionally Play will be limited to those 18yrs. and older.
