This is arguably the most ambitious of the Wall Dogs murals painted around Danville in 2010. Dale Manor was the primary artist for this mural, but it is said that due to its scope other artists would lend their talents after they had finished their own murals around Davnille.

This Balloon Classic Walldog mural depicts balloons that actually flew at the Balloon Classic event. This event was immensely popular in Davnille until the early 2000’s when it began a short hiatus. The event re-emerged in 2015 as “Balloons over Vermilion” and has not shown to have lost any interest among regional residents. Look closely at the participants depicted in the mural, some may be familiar to area residents. Area balloons don’t wait until the event to go flying either, it’s not uncommon to see one or two balloons hovering in the sky on any given sunny day in Danville.

If you travel for a couple of blocks east of here, on North Street, you’ll see three more of these Danville Wall Dog Murals commemorating Illinoi’s first all African-American fire station, Danville’s Fecker Brewing, and the Hot Rod Lincoln
