Geocache Description:

Congratulations to DreadPirateWestley on being the FTF!

This is part six of a 6 cache series focused on the history of Danville and was created in conjunction with the City of Danville's Historic Preservation Commission. All sites have received permission to place caches.

Please be respectful of these places and CITO if you can.

Another of the Wall Dog murals commissioned in 2010 to be painted throughout the Downtown and surrounding area, the Windbreaker/Rissman mural is the creation of artist David Butler.

American soldiers at home and abroad benefited from the patriotic devotion to excellence of the men and women employed by the Rissman & Son Company of Chicago, Danville and Westville. Local workers produced over 300,000 jackets for World War II Army personnel.

On the right side of the mural, a replica of the jacket is shown on the soldier depicted. When peacetime returned, the famous all-weather jacket, sold under the trademarked name “Windbreaker,” became a favorite worldwide.
