Back in the early days of computer games in the 1980's, text adventure games were fairly popular. You had to type commands to navigate your way through a virtual dimension, solving puzzles and going on adventures to reach your objective. In the 1990's, with the advent of more widespread use of the internet, MUDs (multi-user dungeons) were invented which allowed multiple players to 'inhabit' the same virtual space and one half of Artemisworks spent a lot of her university days engrossed in more than one MUD....
Amnesia is modelled on the text adventure games of yore, with many of their endearing idiosyncracies. Click on the image to begin your adventure.
NOTES
As of now, the parser is not very sophisticated although that may change in later versions. You will need to specify the exact name of the person you wish to interact with, i.e if you can see a Fat Thug, you need to type 'Fat Thug' (or 'fat thug') instead of just 'thug'.
And there is no need for proper grammar, you should 'sit chair' rather than 'sit on chair', for example.
There is in-game help available. Good luck!
