Kungsholm är en liten soldatbostad strax intill Östra Vingåkers före detta ålderdomshem.
Historien om Kungsholm är också historien om soldaten Lars Stenqvist – en av de många svenska män som deltog i kriget mot Ryssland 1808-1809.
Den 30 augusti 1808 mötte Lars Stenqvist sitt öde. Han träffades av en rysk kanonkula som slet av båda underarmarna. Soldaten överlevde den fruktansvärda olyckan och för sitt lidande fick han torpet Kungsholm.
Torpet sköts och används idag av Östra Vingåkers Hembygdsförening som också reste den fina minnesstenen som står uppställd en bit från huset. Här finns också bord och bänkar där du kan passa på att inmundiga din medhavda matsäck medan du räknar.

Kungsholm is a small soldier residence right next to Östra Vingåkers former retirement home.
The story of Kungsholm is also the story of the soldier Lars Stenqvist - one of the many Swedish men who participated in the war against Russia 1808-1809. On August 30, 1808, Lars Stenqvist met his fate. He was struck by a Russian cannonball that tore off both of the two forearms. The soldier survived the terrible accident and for his suffering he got the Kungsholm cottage. The cottage is operated and used today by Östra Vingåkers Hembygdsforening, which also made the beautiful memorial stone that is set up a few meters from the house. You will also find tables and benches where you can consume your "fika" while you calculate the final coords. More about Lars Stenqvist you can read on the sign on the house wall at the start coordinates. It is also from the sign you will get the information needed to find the cache and logbook. The first number you have to find is three-digit and last in the fine print at the bottom of the sign. Call that number X. Y is equal to the number of years Lars was when he died. Finally, Z is equal to the number of years Lars lived in the "fattighus". The coordinates of the cache with logbook are obtained by adding to the coordinates of the start the results of the following calculation exercise:
Add 2*X+Y-Z to the N coordinate and 3*X-2*Z-9 to the E coordinate.
