Geocache Description:

Without a doubt the wine industry is the driving force behind Marlborough's economy and this cache is the tenth in a series started by Kiwimykl (and others) to highlight the industry, and my first contribution to the series.

Wine Marlborough list 168 wineries on their website and at the time of listing this is the latest in the series.

The winery was named after Cloudy Bay, a body of water explorer Captain James Cook came across during his voyage to New Zealand in 1770. His discovery coincided with flooding in the region, which washed large amounts of sediment into the sea. Noticing the water’s opaque appearance, Cook cleverly christened the area Cloudy Bay.

A quick and easy park and grab behind one of the first 5 Wineries to establish in Marlborough.
