The beautiful Edinburgh Gardens is a large park located in North Fitzroy. It was created from a grant of land in March 1862 by Queen Victoria and laid out by Clement Hodgkinson. At approximately 24 hectares, the park is large by inner urban standards. The Edinburgh Gardens are much loved and treasured by Melburnians. There is a skate park, dog walking area, football and cricket oval, the old Fitzroy Football Club grandstand, tennis courts, the Bowls Club, a rotunda and a children's playground.
