Top of the World Traditional Cache

A continuation of a series of caches around Hednesford Hills. By kind permission of The Countryside Services of Cannock Chase Council.

Steep hill! Next to Hednesford Hills Raceway which was originally built inside a dis-used reservoir in 1952, and although it closed in 1955 it reopened in 1962.  The shale oval track was resurfaced with asphalt in 1982, enabling lap times to fall drastically, making Hednesford Europe's fastest quarter-mile oval.  From the cache site there are commanding views of the surrounding area. The terrain may not be suitable for small children.
