When my family was younger and living in Rouge Hill, I often walked with my two sons from our house to the Rouge Hill GO Train Station. There, if our timing was right, we would see the HUGE GO train pull into the station. Our kids were so excited!
Sometimes, we would go to Rouge Beach, and if we were lucky and the conductor would see us waving, he would "woo-woo" with his train's loud horn, much to our sons' delight.
I think our sons got the "enthusiasm gene" from my husband, because whenever he and I walk over this bridge, or the Spruce Hill footbridge, and he hears a train a-comin', he breaks out into a "woo-woo" himself.
Boys will always be boys.
Stay a while, and maybe you'll be lucky enough to see a freight train hauling many boxcars. Wave your hands, and maybe you'll get a "woo-woo" yourself.
Safe parking can be found on either of the two streets just north of GZ. Depending on time of day or day of week, stealth may be required. Since this is a micro, BYOP.
