Geocache Description:

Located just west of Sodus Point on Lake Road.

The Lake Ontario property, called Camp Beechwood, is a former Girl Scout camp in the town of Sodus. The land was identified in the 1998 NYS Open Space Plan as a priority for protection because of it's invaluable assets, including 3,500 ft. of shoreline, marsh land and mature forest.
The Girl Scouts began the camp in 1929 and used it as a recreation facility.

Many trails and abandoned camp buildings along the way. The cache is a 50 cal. ammo box.

Park at N 43 15.908, W 077 01.577 to get the full impact of the old camp.
