This is where Neil M Gunn, famous for his novels such as The Silver Darlings and Highland River, went to school. He played in this spot and worked in the garden beside us. If you are here during our open hours, come in and learn more. Explore the harbour, picnic area, walk along the Strath Trail (leaflet available in the museum) to visit the broch and enjoy the river-side walk through ancient coppiced hazel-trees.
Access to the cache is within the Museum’s car-park, containing a Treasure Hunt clue to the box itself!
