Wooden Plank Bridge Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Calling Out Your Name: As mentioned in the earlier post disabling the cache, I stopped by to do a spring checkup on this, and much to my surprise, I found the road to the cache closed from both directions. So I parked a ways in and walked the rest of the way to see what was going on. The eponymous bridge is now closed, and where the cache was located is covered over with plywood. I have no idea if the cache is still there or not under the plywood, but I guess it doesn't matter and unfortunately, it looks like I am going to need to archive this one. It was about a seven and half year run and I hope it was challenging and fun for those who took the time to drive out to look for and find it. But I guess everything must come to an end at some point. [:(]

Geocache Description:

Located at a remote, quiet spot in rural McLean County. Enjoy the peace and quiet and the view of the countryside for a few minutes after finding the geocache.

I've been geocaching for several years and have been wanting to place my own cache for some time now, but I wanted somewhere that I could place a geocache that was a little bit different. I came across this bridge while exploring some country roads on the way to another geocache a few months ago and thought to myself, this is finally the spot. You don't see too many of these bridges around any more, at least on public roads.

This is located along an unimproved county road, but it should generally be passable for about any vehicle as long as there hasn't been a lot of rain or snow. I tried to make this a little bit different than the normal "country bridge" geocache. Let me know what you think and with this being my first geocache, also let me know if you think the difficulty and terrain ratings are correct.

I hope you enjoy the drive in the country to get to this one and the search once you are there.
