Geocache Description:

The posted coords are used for parking. There is no cache at the posted coords. This cache in John Austin Nature Trails Park in Lockport, NY uses a Near Field Communication (NFC) wireless beacon to provide you coordinates to the final.  Your MUST have an Android based cell phone to find this cache. Iphones will not work with these NFC tags.

A couple of years ago I won a Garmin Chirp in a prize raffle at the Letchworth Fall Gathering.  I planned to deploy it but never found the right spot to place it.  It has been buried on my desk since I won it.  The other day I "found" it again (yes, I am claiming FTF).  While placing GC7C1BB (Walk in the Woods), I took some time to research viable locations in Nature Trail Park and found that there are actually quite a few spots open.  To that end, I decided to use up a couple of spots for this cache.

The posted coords are for parkinig only.  Although it may seem tempting to park along the road and quickly grab the coords to the final, you will have to park in the parking lot anyway to get to the final.  Just cut to the chase and park your car before you start the hunt.  The coords for the NFC tag are found at the first waypoint (see below).  Be sure to download a NFC App and enable NFC in the settings of your cell phone before you get to the zero. Once at the zero, look for a small NFC tag attached to a tree. Touch the back of your cell phone to the NFC tag and it should read the coordinates. The coordinates will lead you to the final.

There are many other caches to find in this park as well as three giant oak trees and a small waterfall.  The oak trees are reputed to be over 250 years old.  Depending on how you navigate to the final, you may be able to see all three of them. Since the cache is in Niagara county, beware of poison ivy. PI is abundant here. You may also encounter thorns during your sojourn but you should be able to steer clear of them. At any rate, you have been warned. Also, this is not a typical Borst cache. I am playing as nice as I can on this.

The cache is a plastic ammo container.  It has room for a trade items.  Bring your own writing implement.  Please rehide the cache as found.
