Fire! Fire!
That's almost never a good thing to hear, especially when the fire is a wildland fire. Many areas in Eastern Washington are prone to wildland fires and this is one of those areas. On August 4, 2017, the Hayes Road fire started nearby and burned over 2300 acres before it was contained three days later. At one point, Highway 17 was closed due to fire activity. Luckily, no structures were lost in this fire. The cause is under investigation.
