Geocache Description:

The Pegões Aqueduct was built with the purpose of supplying the Convent of Christ in Tomar with water, and is about 6 km long with several springs along the route. The aqueduct has 58 full-back arches, at its highest point, on 16 ogival arches resting on pillars. Its maximum height is 30 meters. At the ends it presents vaulted houses, which have in the center, a large sink for the decanting of the water. The Aqueduct seen from here has even more beauty. Its arches, its grandeur and nobility can be appreciated and contemplated by all. I hope you share my opinion.
