Geocache Description:

This is a cache that you will find in an area with an unexpected scenic view. Bring your pen.

This cache is found in an historic place, close to the foot of the natural landmark Lion Mountain, roughly 1 km South of Fort Frederik Hendrik, where the dutch first landed in Mauritius on 20 September 1598. The dutch were the first colonisers of the island. Admiral Warwyck named the island after Prince Mauritanie of Nassau. The dutch introduced sugar cane, rice, tobacco, oranges, rabbits, deer in the island.
