Until recently, this was the only cache on the Canyon Trail in Huddart Park - a short stroll from the junction with the Campground Trail (which is really a road to some campgrounds). If you try to access it directly from this road above, then the terrain difficulty goes up slightly. The container is a small lock-n-lock type
I've passed this spot many times and always admired the tightly-spaced grove of very mature redwoods here. At least one of these trees is several hundred years old; possibly much more. I knew I wanted to place a cache nearby at some point, and on my recent foray I finally found a spot that felt right. Since the hide location sits NEAR (not in) this mini-grove, it should enjoy its deep shadows for much of the year.
This cache represents my twelfth in Huddart Park, the first of which I started placing in the summer of 2015. Nobody else has added any more caches since then, so I will just keep filling in the gaps. I hike in this park often, so having my caches all in one area is a convenient way for me to keep them all well-maintained
