Ancient standing stones were used as memory aids by pre-literate societies. Each stone was unique in its size and shape and was visited in a particular sequence. Songs, stories and dances were performed upon arrival, and in combination they facilitated the recall of vast amounts of knowledge. Such stones were the Google of the Stone Age! The listed coordinates will bring you to one of The Standing Stones of Forest Hill. What might their purpose be? It turns out modern humans use them to calibrate their surveying equipment!
This first stone is known as "The A Stone", but you will also see a number stencilled onto it. Make a note of it. Under waypoints you will find the coordinates for the B and C stones. Navigate to each of these in turn and record the numbers you find on each one (the choice of song, story or dance is left up to you).
You will then need to make the following calculations:
U=A-C
V=A+B
W=(2xB)-1
X=A+B-C
Y=(B-C)x(B+C)
Z=A+C
Checksum: U+V+W+X+Y+Z=42
The final coordinates are:
S 37 49.UVW
E 145 10.XYZ
Within 400m you will find the ancient ruins of a pair of sacrificial altars, including a cache within which you can pay homage!
