We are meeting in front of the Ahmet III Fountain in the heart of Üsküdar.
We have GIT KEŞFET events at various historical places of Istanbul and we discover different places each time. We are expecting everyone that wants to be informed about Geocaching, chat or share their experiences with us.
Our event will start at the open area in front of Ahmet III Fountain, at 19:30 and will last 30 minutes. We will take photos together and share trackables. It will end at 20:00.
We will continue chatting and sharing our experiences in a nearby place with those who want to join us. We advise you to read the event page carefully before coming to the event and if possible, examine the fountain before the event. You will be notified of the place where we will continue the event according to the weather conditions on or before the event day. You can sign the log at the event time in front of the fountain.

Ahmet III Fountain
Üsküdar Ahmet III Fountain is located in Üsküdar Square across from the quay, which was built near the shore to serve passengers traveling accross the Bosphorus by Sultan Ahmet III in 1728. It has arrived in its present location during the square planar arrangement.
The fountain is made of solid marble, and inscribed on the side facing the square are verses by the famous Divan poet, Nedim. On the wall facing the mosque there are excerpts from the poet Rahmi, and on another wall are those from the poet Shakir. On the wall facing the Bosphorus one can read verses inspired by Ahmed III and his son-in-law, Nevşehirli Ibrahim Paşa, written in calligraphy by Ahmet III. There are many aspects and adornments of this fountain that give it a very different complexion. Among these are the many S and C curves used in its design, its badges on the niches of the polygonal prisma body, and how its polygonal body turns into square prisma after a certain height. A number of vases on which tulips, roses and chrysanthemums are used as motifs, used to decorate the side of the fountain, are viewed as the most beautiful samples of artistic workmanship on the fountain. In addition, other architectural beauties, such as muqarnases (a three-dimentional decoration of Islam architecture), lancet arches and palmets add a brilliant aesthetic value to the fountain.
Today, the Fountain, which is located on the Main Street of Üsküdar where Hakimiyeti Milliye Street and Paşalimanı Street intersect, is one of the most beautiful fountains of Istanbul.

Üsküdar'ın kalbi niteliğindeki III. Ahmet Çeşmesi önünde buluşuyoruz. Diğer adıyla: Üsküdar Meydan Çeşmesi.
İstanbul’un tarihi mekanlarında yaptığımız ve her seferinde yeni bir mekanı-yapıyı keşfettiğimiz GIT KEŞFET etkinliklerimize amacı Geocaching hakkında bilgi almak-sohbet etmek ve/veya tecrübelerini paylaşmak isteyen herkesi bekleriz.
Etkinliğimiz saat 19:30'da III. Ahmet Çeşmesi önündeki açık alanda, dışarda başlayacak ve 30 dakika sürecektir. Birlikte fotoğraflar çektirip, trackableları paylaşacağız. Saat 20:00'da etkinlik bitecektir. Katılmak isteyenlerle beraber muhabbet etmek ve tecrübelerimizi paylaşmak amacıyla yakınlardaki bir mekanda oturarak etkinliğe devam edeceğiz. Etkinliğe gelmeden etkinlik sayfasında yazılanları dikkatle okumanızı ve mümkünse etkinlik öncesinde çeşmeyi incelemenizi tavsiye ederiz. Etkinlik gününde veya öncesinde hava durumuna göre etkinliğe devam edeceğimiz mekan duyuru olarak sizlere bildirilecektir. Etkinlik saatinde çeşme önünde log kağıdını imzalayabilirsiniz. İsteyenler civarda bolca bulunan kutuları aramaya devam edebilirler.

III. Ahmet Çeşmesi
Üsküdar Meydanı’nda iskelenin karşısında bulunan Sultan III. Ahmet Çeşmesi, 1728 yılında boğazdan gelip geçen yolcuların ihtiyaçlarını görmesi amacıyla, deniz kenarına inşa edilmiş; bugünkü yerine meydan düzenleme çalışmaları sırasında taşınmıştır.
Som mermerden olan III. Ahmet Çeşmesi’nin, III. Ahmet ve Sadrazam Nevşehirli Damat İbrahim Paşa’nın birlikte hazırladıkları kitabesi; III. Ahmet’in celi sülüsüyle yazılmış, çeşmenin üzerindeki beyitler dönemin ünlü şairlerinden Nedim, Şakir ve Rahmi tarafından kaleme alınmıştır. S ve C kıvrımların ve bezemelerin bir hayli güçlü olduğu çeşmede, çokgen gövde belli bir yükseklikten sonra kare prizmaya dönüşmekte; çeşmenin çokgen prizma gövdesindeki nişlerin üzerindeki rozetler, çeşmeye farklı bir hava katmaktadır. Çeşmenin Cephe tasarımında kullanılmış vazolardaki lale, gül ve krizantem işlemeler, çeşmedeki sanatsal işçiliğin güzel örnekleri arasında gösterilebilir. Ayrıca; mukarnas, sivri kemer ve palmet gibi çeşmenin diğer mimari güzellikleri çeşmeye göz alıcı bir estetik katmıştır.
Bugün Üsküdar’ın en işlek caddelerinden olan Hâkimiyeti Milliye ve Paşalimanı Caddesi’nin kesiştiği kavşakta kalan çeşme, İstanbul en güzel çeşmelerinden biridir.
