A fun family walk or cycle by the Whangamata stream.
Lynley was the partner of Keith Crate who had the vision to create this lovely walk. In 2006 the Oxfam Trailwalk first came to NZ and Keith was tasked with making the course. He needed a walk out of Kinloch and used PD workers to begin clearing the track on the west side of the stream. The Oxfam Trailwalkers of 2006 did the rest! After the event, Keith and locals from the Kinloch community completed the east side of the stream, put in the first bridge and rebuilt the waterwheel. Lynley's bridge completes the circuit for all to safely enjoy this wonderful community asset. If you spend a while on the bridge you may see Trout fish migrating upstream as the Whangamata is one of the many spawning streams for Lake Taupo.
