A while back I came across a large quantity of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Toys and thought it would be great to incorporate them into Geocaching. It was suggested to me that I should make them into travel bugs and give them all different goals. I also new I had been wanting to hide a new cache some what close to where I live, something simple, and somewhere the whole family could enjoy. I did some scouting for a location and realized that there were no caches hidden at Jennings Memorial Park. In the end I thought it would be great to make a themed cache out of the whole thing. So let the turtle invasion begin.
The cache is a regular ammo box that started out with ten Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle travel bugs: MIKE, THE SEWER SURFER, NAVY SEAL MIKE, POWERLIFTIN’ DON, PRO PILOT DON, RAPH, THE SPACE CADET, RAPPIN’ MIKE, SAMURAI RAPH, SHELL KICKIN’ RAPH, SKATEBOARDIN’ MIKE, and T.D. TOSSIN' LEO. Although the ten original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle travel bugs are off on there adventures, I would like to maintain the turtle theme. Please leave only other Teenage Mutant Ninja turtle toys or paraphernalia; this includes any of their enemies (Shredder and his mighty Foot Soldiers) or any turtle, reptile or amphibian items or toys. Please be sure to put the cache the way you found it.
Turtles beware; one of Shredder's Foot Soldiers has already landed and is on the hunt to stop you!
“Jennings Memorial Park & Jennings Nature Park”
“51 acres - 6915 Armar Road”
”Surrounded by a natural trail setting, Jennings Memorial Park along Allen Creek provides a peaceful environment for the entire family. Jennings Nature Park, dedicated in 1993, is joined to the Memorial Park by a pedestrian bridge. It is situated adjacent to a 17-acre wetland observatory.”
“The Memorial Park offers picnic facilities, trails, playgrounds, softball fields, meeting rooms with kitchen facilities in the Jennings Park Barn, restrooms, the Gehl House Museum, a WSU master garden and compost demonstration site, Rotary Ranch Petting Zoo, Lions Centennial Pavilion and Jennings Dinosaur Park. The dinosaur park offers Godzilla-sized fun with such dinosaurs as a 23-foot-long Stegosaurus heavy-duty climber; a 17-foot SalamanderSaurus; a Pterodactyl swing, and ride-on prehistoric beasties Barney, the Tyrannosaurus Rex; a Triceratops and a baby Brontosaurus. Bring a camera!” (The park quotes came from the following web site http://www.ci.marysville.wa.us/parks.htm#Jennings)
February 25, 2003: I have replaced the cache in a brand new location, that I hope will be less likely to be found, in hopes that it will not be stolen again.
September 7, 2004: Once again the cache box has been stolen by stoned muggles. The jerk even had the guts to write in the log book and tell me he stole the box. At least the journal and the contents were left. I have replaced the box, and again, put it in a new location and updated the coordinates. Remember I am still trying to maintain a theme.
Note: There is a note at the beginning of the journal that I have left for my fellow Geocachers and would appreciate it if you read that before logging your entry.
